Dancing, DBN, and doll faces...

So, it's been one of those weeks... CRAZY!  I've been busy with catching up with old friends, and making new ones as well!  So, shall we catch up?  This past week has consisted of:
Ryan, Coco, and Andrew
Monday, what happened?  Hmmm oh yes!  I spent the evening with two of my fave fellas:  Ryan and Andrew.  We went to a cute little lake near by, and went peddle boating.  Very interesting!  Our boat kept getting water in it, and I ended up getting lake water all over my shorts.  Sad day.  Oh well.  it was a good time.  We chatted, and took some photos... would you expect anything else?  After getting rained out, we ended up going to Sharky's.  Ice cream for days! Yum.  You should like them on Facebook: Sharky's Eats&Treats!  They have great food, and delicious ice cream :)  We ended the night with some redbox rentals, and catching up.  Ryan just got back from India, and Andrew is headed back to LexVegas!  I'll miss them when we all start back to school.

Tuesday was pretty chill, not too much happened... Matty came over and we chatted and what not.
Jacob, me, and Ryan
Taylor, Matt, and I

Wednesday, also known as DBN (dollar burger night).  The old gang from CCHS got together with some of the usuals of DBN.  We all chatted and basically took over the place. You know how we do!  It was great seeing old friends whom I hadn't seen practically since high school, and being able to introduce them to new pals!  We all got a little dolled up and hit up Newport on The Levee for some laughs and food.  I saw Horrible Bosses for the second time... it's STILL funny! haha I need to watch Bridesmaides a few more times... probably one of the funniest movies I've yet to see! :)  Anywho... we saw the movie, then headed to Bar Louie for our Wednesday night ritual.  After eating with the gang, Matt and I went to the OTR to get our dance on, and socialize with the Cincinati folk :)  Thank goodness for great people and great food!

Thursday, what happened Thursday?  Oh yes, I went shopping and out to lunch with Momma Autumn.  Thursday evening, I headed over to see Taylor, Jennifer, and Sarah's new place.  Super cute!  Sarah and Jamealleh were in town for a hot second, and it twas a must to see them before they journeyed back to the Ville.  We lounged around, and played with Tyson, the ferrit.  haahha AMUSING, to say the least.

Friday, you ask?  Oh Friday was just your typical night out on the town-- chilling at Matty's, then heading to a party at a friend's place in Covington, then made our way to the OTR.  We walked around, then went to Roxy's-- our usual dance spot!  We ran into some friends from high school, and danced the night away with some drag queens.  Classy?  I think so.  Anywho, it twas a great evening!
Caitlin working the runway
Saturday, oh yes... Saturday!  Well, we started the day by going out to lunch with my aunt, cousin, and momma.  It was a nice change of pase, and it was great to chat with the fam.  My aunt is hilarious!  Anywho, we all chatted and ate some food... we were there for like 2 hours!  Longer than anyone else there!  Ooops.  It happens :)  Then momma Autumn and I browsed the mall, and people watched.  I got some great music, and movies from f.y.e. which I always love!  A Brat Pack combo DVD pack for $9.99... I think so!!  Then we headed back home.  My neighbor just returned from her luxerious life in Florida, where she bought me some unique goodies.  A cute little Scrabble piece necklace, and a pop tab bracelet! How cute and original :)  Then I was off to the Chicken Lays A Fashion Show at Memorial Hall.  Some DJ's and cool lazers filled the place, and awesome vintage trinquet all around the hall.  A new friend of mine, Jessy, provided me with a VIP seat, next to my friends Betsy and Becki!  Zach of The Fagazine was sick, and couldn't join us, but it was still an awesome time!  We watched in awe, as models strut the runway with the vintage and unique items of Chicken Lays An Egg-- A divine little store in Northside.  Check out their website:  I can't wait to go shopping for back to school now!  Men, women and children modeled dresses, swimwear, and even some officewear.  It was quite the show!   It was so great to see the mix of people at the show... all there for the same reasons:  fashion, music, people, etc.  The great vintage, almost mod-esque quality was real awesome!!  One of my friends, Caitlin was in the show... she's fabulous! Duh. So, basically, I loved being at the show, and a part of the VIP section.  I hope Zach gets well soon, so we can hit the town asap!  :)  He's the best!  Basically, my week was great, and hectic!  I hope Zach gets better soon, so we can have a night out on the town soon!

Some more shots from the show...

one of my fave looks!

this girl was the cutest!

So, in all... my week was pretty awesome!!! :)

Keep it classy Cincy!
I'm off to watch The Glee Project, and then Queen City later!  (I may be making an appearance tonight)

Live it, Love it, Caress it...

So, in light of some news I've recently received about a dear friend of mine-- I've decided to take this moment to get real.  Raw.  Not so witty.

Just a few moments ago, I received a call from a fella who means the world to me.  He rarely calls me to have a legitimate conversation, so my instinct was to be worried.  The phone call consisted of him telling me how he needed to tell me something, he needed to talk to me... what about?  Well he preceded to tell me about a condition he's had for quite sometime, and how things may be getting worse.  (I don't want to go into too much detail, I don't want to invade his privacy).  Well, it seems they've found cancerous cells in his body, and he must go through a series of procedures, and a long recovery process.  This means he wont be joining me in our random escapades in the spring semester at NKU, but none of that matters.  For, it doesn't matter if we graduate in our four year plan, it doesn't matter if we get all A's, it doesn't matter if we date the hottest guy on campus, or even if we picked the right major.  Those things all seem so simple in the scheme of things.  Life is a journey, not a destination.  We must enjoy our time, enjoy our lives, and the people we spend it with.  After the passing of my grandma last November, I'd gotten a glimpse of this hope-- this new found spirit.  But even more so now... someone my own age, someone who I am so close to... he has cancerous cells?  Not possible.  But it is.  For him, I want to make sure that the fall semester is awesome, that we do everything we want to, and more!  Try new things, make new friends, go to cool places, just enjoy life.  No regrets.  Do we need to get reckless?  I don't think so... but who knows?  Let's live our lives day to day, and be happy.  We never know when things can get worse.  Like I always say:  Live it, love it, caress it!

So, now that I've gotten that off my chest... I need to make sure to check back in more often, to see how life is going.  We can't just sit around and wait for life to happen... we make it happen!

Okay, so some music...

Sorry the songs are a little mellow... it fits the mood.

Catching Up with Relient Glitter and Music...

Ty Gab's last night in Cincy...
Well it's been one heck of a week... a lot has happened!  I've reconnected with old friends, made new ones, been to a few concerts, chipped a nail, became a fan of a local band, danced the night away, gotten glitter everywhere-- and the list goes on!

Hmm so to recap:  Tyler has gone back to NYC, and we've missed him so!  Dollar Burger Nights aren't the same without him, and we don't randomly have musical numbers happen in the aisles of grocery stores... it's a bummer, to say the least.  But he's off making a name for himself, and being fierce, as usual.  Thankfully we had many a going away adventures with the lad... and we spent a lovely summer together!  I can't wait for his return back to the NKY, but maybe that'll give me a reason to visit him in New York :) Yes please!
Jade and Alexander.

What else has been happening?  Well, I've been able to reconnect with old friends-- which has been awesome!!!  Things got back in the swing of things with a photoshoot at a random park.  Sunshine, Starbucks, and smiles.  I'm practicing my photo skills, for I am to take photos at a friend's wedding reception.  I hope all goes well, I'm nervous and excited!  But the place looks great, and as long as there is enough lighting when need be-- we'll be good! :)
Let's see, what else?? Hmmm... I've been working with my internship more recently.  Getting the press releases ready, finalizing contact lists-- you know how that goes.  Many a meetings with my boss man, the best man!  ahha We've been able to do some photoshoots, like forreal photoshoots for some new projects happening.  I was able to work with a local Cincinnati band, Bad Veins.  They're really cool guys, and they make awesome music.  Check them out here: http://www.badveins.net/  I was able to chat with them, and get to know them, while jamming to their newly finished album.  Keep your eye out for the release.  Also, we recently launched the logo for a new Cincy magazine... MOXIE.  It's going to be awesome!  A nice mixture of women's fashion, and music... my two loves!  We had quite the little shin dig the other night in honor of the launch, with music provided by DJ Scene: http://dj-scene.com/audiodownloads/.  He's got some awesome mashups, go get your download on!  What else has been happening with this internship?  Who knows... it's a day to day thing, I'm just getting hyped about September's MidPoint Music Festival on Fountain Square, and our Vitamin Water Uncapped LIVE events!!! Get hyphy ladies and gentleman.

Taken a few years ago, but still all the rage...
...Speaking of getting hyphy-- my dear friend, Ryan, has arrived back in the NKY after being in India all summer!  I can't wait to catch up on life, and go on some random adventures before we have to go back to school.  We're already planning for an awesome DBN (Dollar Burger Night) this Wednesday, duh!  We'll get some of the high school gals and dudes together and get cray-cray.  And by cray-cray, I obviously mean, eat too many tater tots, and dance til the music stops. Duh.

Also, we can't forget the fact that Matt (The Stud) Hepner visited us this past DBN!!! I was so excited to see him, and so was Matt Watson!  I can't wait for Matt, my knight in shining armor to move back up here...

What else can I rant about?  Oh, duh!  I've been hitting up the concert scene again!  Thank goodness :)  Last Friday, I had the pleasure of joining my friends Adam and Gus at Fountain Square to see Belle Histoire and Ted Leo and The Pharmacist perform, for FREE! Yay!  It was hot, but there was some awesome bands there, and so worth it!!  The view of Cincinnati at night, it's magical... We ended the evening by almost being apart of a flashmob dance event in the middle of the OTR!  Yess.

My bro, Allie, and I before Tim McGraw
On Sunday, my brother, Chadwick, and I hit up the country music scene.  (No, his name really isn't Chadwick, just Chad).  Anywho, we went to see Luke Bryan, The Band Perry, and Tim McGraw.  It was a good concert-- very hot, but good!  Too many fights were happening in the lawn, and too many people streaking in the parking lot... who knew all that excitement would happen at a country concert?  Not I, I say!

On Tuesday, Lauryn and I hit up Warped Tour!  Oh yess!  It was soooo hot, but there was so much great music there!  We ended up seeing a lot of bands, and meeting up with some friends along the way.  The only thing that stinks about Warped, is that there are so many bands, and not enough time to see them all.  You have to schedule which bands you want to see, and hopefully they aren't overlapping.  Stages are set up around Riverbend, and you have to maneuver through hundreds of people.  The cool thing about it all?  You get the opportunity to see new bands, and headliners too.  You make a lot of friends, and you get the chance to hang out with the bands themselves!  The vibe at Warped is cool, you can really connect with the people there-- and there's no judgement, we're all there to have a good time, and enjoy some live music!

Josh, Matt and I.
The best part of the day?  Well, my friends Josh, Austin, and I were all rocking out to Relient K, then trying to make our way to the main stage in time to see Jack's Mannequin... I look to my left, and guess who is rocking out to Jack's Mannequin too?  Only Matt Thiessen himself, the lead singer of Relient K!!  So, of course, I'm starstruck, and not in the Lady Gaga of 3OH!3 way (Song references).  I tweeted my friend Josh, and we made sure to talk to Matt.  He was so nice, and willing to stop watching the performance to take a photo with us.  Ahhh so exciting!!! That was the highlight of my day, maybe the summer...
Then on Friday, Evan and I went to see Belle Histoire and The Cold War Kids! We made some new friends, and heard some really great bands! Belle Histoire might be my new obsession... they're from Cincinnati, and they are so awesome. I'm friends with one of the guys in the band, Austin, and now a couple more of the members. Jane, the lead singer is super sweet... and a great salesperson! Their shirts are super soft, and you need to see them perform live! Check them out here: http://www.bellehistoiremusic.com/. They have an awesome EP out right now, and I can't wait to hear more from them!
Some of Belle Histoire
Also, over the weekend, we hit up a giant dance party at The Drinkery in OTR.  My dear friends Kenneth and David DJ'd the night away, while supplying all the gays and gals with glitter... ferr dayyys!! (Trademark pending).  We were all sweaty hot messes, with glitter everywhere!  I met some cool new people Saturday night, and we danced the night away!  A nice little shout out to Gus-- for being a straight boy, I was impressed by his dance moves!  Get it, son!

I got to spend some time with some fellow NKU students last night!  The SigEps are some of the chillest guys I know, and they're so sweet!  I can't wait to spend more time with them, and my new friends.

I think that's all I need to rave or rant on about today!  I've gotta get ready to watch the third episode of Queen City tonight!

As always, here's some cool music to jam to...

Obsessed!!!

Ben and Sebastian, they're so awesome!

So good live!!!

Because I had forgotten about this until Joseph reminded me yesterday...

Have a swell Sunday, and I'll try to write more often!

Music Mondays for days...

Sorry, once again-- it's been ages since my last post!

What all has been going on in that hair of mine, you ask?  Well...
I've been tutoring Fourth graders, and it's been great!  They have so much imagination and spunk.  I remember the days of elementary school... running around the playground, playing four square, coloring for days, simon says, and popsicles.  Those were the days.  But I am definitely appreciating my last year as a teen.  It hit me the other day, that in January I shall be 20!!! Ummm that seems so old! My brothers are 26 and 27.  I am slowly catching up to them, wowza!  But being 20 will bring a lot of excitement as well, and I'm looking forward to it.  Anywho, why am I dwelling about my birthday?
Speaking of birthdays, there shall be a super VIP birthday shin dig coming up, I'm looking forward to going and hanging out with some of my fave Cincy celeb-utants. :)

This week has been filled with hot weather, laziness, and some randomness, as always.  And taking photobooth photos in my free time. I have no life!  But I have to keep my pail skin outta the sun and in the AC. :)

I'm looking forward to working on the Homecoming Committee after meeting last week... we have some cool ideas, and the people seem great! Go Norse! As every Wednesday, we journeyed to dollar burger night!  This time, we had a lot of attendees!  It was a random array of people, but there was a fun time had by all.  We had our gays, our rappers, our couples, foreign friends, as well as some youngsters!  It was great seeing everyone, and catching up about our summer lives.  What else has happened?  hmmm... nothing too exciting, just meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, and working on my internship!

Speaking of internship, my boss man, Kenneth was spotted on the new Fox 19 show, Queen City.  You should all check it out, if you're interested in Cincinnati and some of the fabulous people who live here.  Hopefully I'll make a small appearance, I tend to hang out with some of the celebs featured on the show!  The first episode aired last night, can't wait to see more... best of luck cast and crew!

And always, as promised: Music Monday!!! Here's 5 songs that I've been jamming to recently....

sometimes I think a tune like this is playing my head, for no reason.  And I'm alright with it!

and because I love the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack soo much...

as always, keep it classy Cincy

MUSIC MONDAY!!!

Ello puppet!!! Didn't do much today, but I did get to hit up "The Village" with my rents.  Momma Autumn browsed for hours with me, looking through old women tops, rompers, countless blazers, and enough polka dots to last a lifetime.  But in the end I got like 3 bags of stuff, and some pretty cute stuff!  Thank goodness for those half off colored tags!!!

So in the spirit of Music Monday, it's time for some cool jams: Let's do this...

I was listening to this whole album yesterday... forgot how much I adore these guys!

Can't forget about these guys.  I am STILL obsessed with them... it's been like 2 years! yay!!!!

Perfect for my summer playlist!

Such a good beat!!! :)

and just to throw some country in the mix... was singing this with my momma earlier. You get it!

So, there's some cool tunes for the day!  Have a great Monday!

Bro's Burfday/Summer Sunday...

Well, it's been a while... seems to be the story of my life lately! ahha Well, some things have been happening recently; let's try and catch up?

Well, last Wednesday was my brother, Chad's birthday.  Although we bicker and pick on one another, we're pretty close.  He's 26 now, but we have a lot of mutual friends.  He's pretty cool, and we have similar morals... as far as drinking and smoking and such.  He's 26, and never drank. I completely respect him for that amongst other traits... but don't tell him I said that!  Here's a photo of the devil, himself:
He loves cars and the simple things in life.  He's pretty awesome, and looks out for his friends and family.  Happy late Burfday bro!
Excuse his rude shirt. hahah He's a dork.
What else is new?  I have completed my first week as a tutor!  I am working with Elementary kids, and it's great!  They're Cardinals, just like I was :)  We get to sketch pictures, read poetry, work on long division and I even read a book to them.  Maybe teaching should be my profession?  It's always been in the back of my mind as an option... I've had a lot of experience in leadership roles, as well as years of tutoring under my belt.  Kids seem to like me, and I don't mind them either. hahha Maybe I'll think about education as a career.  We'll see how this whole PR thing works for me.
Speaking of which, I got to do some real assisting on Friday.  I helped with a cool photoshoot/interview with LA's Dj Mia.  She was so chill and down to earth.  I was able to help come up with some interview questions, as well as get to chat with her a bit about music and such.  The photoshoot was awesome, I'd never been on set for one, and it was so cool to see all the behind the scenes stuff.  Look forward to her interview and story in a new magazine launching in the fall.  More details later...
Hmm today has been a lazy day, but I got some stuff done and caught up on some journaling.  I hadn't wrote in my journal since like May!  Hahah Classy. But it's so funny reading through old entries.  Things about petty drama from Senior year, and things I worried about before college.  It's cute to see my first impressions of people whom I am the best of friends with now.  That's the fun of having a place to write your thoughts; like this blog, or a diary/journal.  You can look back on things that you've gone through and see how much you've grown, or how things have changed...
So, it's Summer Sunday... So, my friend, Ashley, and I have decided to get the gang back together and hit up the Drive In in Amelia!  It should be a fun time.  Summer night, stars bright, Harry Potter, and some great friends!  I'm looking forward to it.  But now it's that awkward moment where I invited all my coupled friends, and now I'm gonna be solo.  To take a gay boy, or not... that tis the question! hhah I asked a friend, but he's busy... bummer. No worries, it'll be a good time regardless. :)  Optimism is key.
I'm looking forward to catching up with old friends, grabbing coffee, hanging out at the park, taking pictures, seeing movies, going to concerts, etc.  The summer isn't over yet!  We can't let these awesome things pass us by... Picnics, watching planes takeoff, going to lookout points, art museums, random coffee shops with local bands, starry skies, flying kites...  These are the simple things that I love the most.  Now to find someone to do them with.  Any takers? haha
Welp, it's getting late, and I'm running out of things to say.  Ta Ta for now.

Some tunes for the road... my bro likes the vehicles in the video.  And we both can bond over Weezer's music.  So in honor of his burfday...

Therapy Thursday and Typically Tyler's Burfday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TYLER.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! :D

For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYGAB! :)

Last night, at Dollar Burger Night, the gang and I also celebrated the end of Tyler's teen years.  For today, Tyler is 20 years old... no longer shall he be a teen, and no longer shall he be compared to a child.  Although some think 20 is not a special year, I know great things lie ahead for Tyler and his career.

I've known Tyler since I was a Sophomore in high school, and here I am entering my Sophomore year of college!  Oh, how the time flies!  Tyler is also an avid reader of my blog, and he has also started his own blog, check it out: http://typicallytyler.blogspot.com/

In the spirit of Thursday, it's time for some ranting and such... what to discuss?? Hmmm... let's see, oh, I know... Girls!  Jeesh, sometimes I just cannot believe the stuff girls put their boyfriends through (and vise versa).  There comes a point in a relationship, I see it all the time, where a girl becomes too overprotected (more so than usual) and they begin to not make since.  They text their boyfriend, and beg to spend every waking minute together.  Although I have no boyfriend, I always see these types of things happen to my friends.  The girl often becomes paranoid and wants to keep her fella to herself, and not let him hang out with their friends... so weird.  Girls, get real... if your guy likes/loves you, he will be faithful, and he'll have a life.  Sorry, but just because you're dating someone, that gives no excuse for you to control their life as well.  Let them be an individual, and enjoy life, and you should do the same.  And I wonder why a fella has not taken interest in me... I'm so wise ;) hahah I see these types of mistakes, and changes happen all the time in relationships, so obviously, I know what not to do for the future.

So, now that I am done being Dr. Phil for the evening, let's share some music for today... in honor of Tyler, a song from Anything Goes, the first show that I worked alongside TyGab. :)

Stay classy folks.

Wish Wednesday...

Here it tis, our first Wish Wednesday... and what do I wish for? Hmmmmmm

I wish for happiness. It seems simple, and not even worth mentioning, but it's important.  Pure, simple, happiness.  I want my friends to get along, no drama, just happy :)  I know I'm cliche and whatever, but it's my wish.  I want our Dollar Burger Night tonight to be grand, without any drama.  I want happiness from my family... I want us to get along, and have fun!  No fighting over dumb games or the computer.  I want happiness.  Is that too much to ask?  I want to have fun doing the simple things in life, as well as living on the edge from time to time. I want to be me, and have fun!  HAPPINESS. :D

So, there you have it... my wish.  It may change from time to time, but for today, happiness will do :)

Have a great day, and here's a song to deal with happiness...

Tips Tuesday/Jonas Day...

So, as promised... it's "Tips Tuesday".  What shall the tips be today? Hmmmmm....
Well, maybe we'll start with some simple ones...

Tips for Facebook...

  • Ladies, I'm not sure why you feel as though you should post provocative pictures of yourself.  You're making yourself seem skanky and gross.  Keep your photos classy and funny.  Facebook is not some hookup site, it's for networking and keeping in contact with people you meet-- not telling the whole world that you're a skank.  No offense.
  • Mirror pictures... while yes, we've all had them... try to keep them to a minimum.  They're very Myspace, and odd.
  • The sideways snarl... it's not that cute. We've all done it.  Now, let's stop it. Come one people, we can be more clever with our facial expressions.
  • Status updates... although it is amazing that you're getting so much done in a day... do we really need to know where you are all the time, and how many times you've gone to the store today?  You know what I'm talking about. :)  Be creative with your statuses, don't just always complain about your job and that crazy ex or yours.
  • Please, post cool pictures and music.  I love seeing what kind of music people listen to... it also introduces me to new songs and bands.  I also love looking at pictures, just to see what people look like now, and what kinda cool stuff they do. You know you love it too!
So, there are your tips for today.  I hope you enjoyed them... they'll get better as time goes on, promise!

Also, today is Jonas day "WeStayWithJonas" is trending on Twitter... today is 7/05... which is a classic Jonas Brothers song (7:05).  I remember the day I met them... so awesome.  Yea, I was like 16-- So?  I'm 19 now, and I can still jam out to "Mandy" or "Burning Up".  It's okay.... I love all types of music, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Gosh, they're still cute. :)

Happy Jonas Day!

MUSIC MONDAY/ Happy 'Merica Day!

HELLO Bloggers and fellow celebrators of Independence Day!!!
Today, we celebrate America's independence, and our freedom as citizens.  We often times take for granted the freedoms and rights that we have as Americans, but on today... we should definitely remember all of these things and soo much more.  Remember all the hardships our forefathers had to face, and the life that we are living today.  Today is not only about fireworks, hotdogs, short shorts, and drinking... it's about us.  It's about what America has gone through and the people who have served as well.  But while this blog is not very political, we shall share some music, fashion, and whatever seems fitting for today's 4th of July-ness!

Some Americana Clothing....

and just because Hello Kitty is adorable:

and fellas, you know we wouldn't mind if you wore...

Some more provided by: http://www.modcloth.com/

I'm obsessed with these vintage 1950's style bathing suits.  So cute, and can work with any body type.

More americana photos to come...

Have a great Monday, a fabulous 4th of July. And most of all keep it classy.
